CUPE 4153 sounds the alarm on Enhanced Cleaning reductions

This morning at 9am, a press release from CUPE National was sent to all local media about the decrease in enhanced cleaning.  After 9am, you can view the press release by following this link: https://communitywire.ca/2021/09/07/education-workers-point-out-potential-dangers-in-hamilton-wentworth-dsbs-school-reopening-plans/

If you are comfortable doing so, I’m asking that you share the press release on your Facebook or other social media that you use.  A picture of the press release is attached along with this email to make it easier to share online.

Informing the community about the cutting of this important job that our members do and has a direct impact on the health and safety of everyone in our schools is the most important thing right now.  While numbers are rising before school has even started, parents and our co-workers should expect that touchpoints are being cleaned and disinfected the same as last year – not being cut by up to 75%.

In solidarity,

Blake
